NHS students wrap gifts for families

The Huntley High School National Honor Society led a gift-wrapping event at the school on Monday that covered thousands of gifts for families in need.
As reported in the Northwest Herald, more than 100 students participated in the event. The gifts will benefit families who live at the Community Alternatives shelter in Chicago, which helps low-income families who need a place to stay. Along with toys for the children, students wrapped necessary items for parents, such as baby strollers and carriers.

“I think it’s real important that students understand there are people who aren’t as fortunate as we are and realize that they can be helpful and make a difference,” Lyons told the paper.
