After taking the helm of the band, Carter says he researched what types of preparation the top bands in the country undertake. While skeptical at first, band members now credit much of this unorthodox preparation, including dance and ballet practice, with catapulting them into the top level of bands in the state.
Students have worked with several clinicians in preparation of their upcoming performance March 21, including a Concert Band Camp with Dr. Milt Allen formerly of Ohio State University and Dr. Gavin Smith of Illinois State University.
