Kindergarten Registration Events for 2017-18

District 158 Parents/Guardians:
This letter contains important information for families of students who plan to ride the bus during the 2017-18 school year.

Sitter Requests

The District accommodates requests from families of students who plan to ride the bus to or from a sitter rather than the family’s residence. Please note that the sitter must also reside in the student’s school boundaries.
All requests for bus pickup or dropoff at a sitter for the 2017-18 school year require the submission of the Busing Request to Sitter Form (4.110 F1). This form can be found on the District website on the Forms page, listed under the Parents Tab. Please note that the form must be submitted, even if the request is the same as one for the previous school year.
All forms must be completed and submitted to the Transportation Department no later than July 21, 2017 to ensure that all information is confirmed for the start of the 2017-18 school year. The form can be faxed to (847) 659-3020 or dropped off at the District Office, 650 Academic Drive, Algonquin.

Route Information for All Riders

Families will be able to see tentative route information for their bus riders in PowerSchool beginning July 27, 2017. Please note that during the process of finalizing routes, your route may change from what was tentatively posted, and you are encouraged to check the information in PowerSchool regularly to see if your route has changed. The District will finalize all routes in PowerSchool by August 18, 2017.
Please note that the District will be unable to accept parent/guardian requests to change routes made between August 16 and August 30. After that time, requests to alter your student’s route may be made by contacting the Transportation Department at (847) 659-3000 or [email protected]. Please note that such requests are not guaranteed to be fulfilled.
In addition, we thank you in advance for your patience while students and staff adjust to their new routes during the first few weeks of school. Our top priority is always ensuring the safety of all riders, and it is common for bus routes to experience delays during the beginning of the school year as we work to ensure all riders feel safe and comfortable on their buses.
As always, if you have any questions, please contact us at (847) 659-3000 or [email protected].
