The Huntley 158 Parent Tot Program and the Huntley Area Public Library are teaming up to present a free family concert on February 19 featuring celebrated kids song performer Jim Gill. The concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Chesak Elementary School gym.

This a FREE event for everyone, so invite your neighbors, friends and family…a perfect way to spend a Wednesday evening, and no tickets are needed.

Gill is both a musician and an author. His recordings and books for young children have received five separate awards from the American Library Association over the years.

He also is a child development specialist and concentrated his graduate studies on the significant role of play in our lives. Jim understands the importance of those moments when young children “play at reading” with parents, teachers and caregivers that they love. Those moments play a crucial role in literacy development.

Each of Jim’s concerts is an active sing-along and clap-along. He bangs out energetic rhythms on his banjo while everyone claps, jumps, dances and even sneezes along. The concert is filled, of course, with songs and stories from Jim’s award-winning recordings and books for young children.

Register at the library or at huntleylibrary.org/register or by calling (847) 669-5386 and press 4.
