Huntley 158 families,

Please remember that tomorrow, Friday, April 10 remains a day of non-attendance, and our scheduled April 24 Institute Day will remain devoted to staff professional development activities. No new e-Learning assignments will be pushed out on either of these dates, and staff members will not be expected to be available for student contact.

Please use these “days off” and future remote learning planning days to take time away from school work. We know we are asking families to do a lot of heavy lifting in support of continued learning. Both students and families will benefit from stepping away as much as possible on these days. We are so appreciative of your dedication to continuing the learning process, but we know that to be successful in this effort will require time away to recharge. We want to keep learning forward as much as possible, but our primary concerns are the physical and mental wellness of our students and families.

Please see the latest updates from the District below:

End-of-Year Events Rescheduled

The following events have been tentatively rescheduled, pending health department approval:

  • HHS Prom: Rescheduled for July 17 at same venue
  • HHS Graduation: Rescheduled for July 20, 6:00 p.m. at same venue
  • Marlowe 8th Grade Promotion: July 23, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at HHS
  • Heineman 8th Grade Promotion: July 24, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at HHS

Clarifications About Remote Learning Planning Days

In our prior update, we announced that the District has scheduled Remote Learning Planning Days on April 17, May 1, May 8, May 15, and May 22. Please note that the dates announced in May will only be applicable if schools remain closed through those dates. We have not heard from the State whether closures will be extended. However, given the strong possibility that we will remain closed, we scheduled these dates in advance. In addition, on these dates, our staff members will be fully engaged in professional planning activities. Families and students should not expect that teachers will be available for assistance on these dates.

April School Board Meeting

The April school board meeting will be held remotely via Zoom, on Thursday April 16 at 7:00 p.m.  The Agenda and board packet as well as participation information will be posted by Tuesday on the District website.
