Call to Action – Donations Needed

Members of the Huntley 158 community who have spare baby monitors are encouraged to donate them to Northwestern Hospital Huntley in support of the ongoing COVID-19 response.

These items (which will not be returned) will help healthcare providers interact with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients in isolation. In limiting in person interactions, they will help to reduce the risk for providers and preserve personal protective equipment (PPE). This relatively low-tech option requires no knowledge on the part of the patient, and in monitoring voices and sounds in the area, allows for the care team to hear without the need for a prompt such as a nurse call button.

Individuals can bring the items to the hospital loading dock Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-noon. Alternatively, the school district will arrange no-contact pick up for donations and deliver them to the hospital as a convenience to our families and to reduce traffic to the hospital.

Looking to the Future

The ongoing COVID-19 crisis not only has radically altered our current school year, but also poses potential threats and challenges to our learning environment, physical operations, and financial outlook.

We are looking to our community to provide us insights to the concerns you have as we plan for this uncertain future: As we continue efforts to plan for an uncertain future, what are your greatest questions/concerns heading into next school year?

Please take a moment to provide your thoughts and respond to the thoughts of others in our ThoughtExchange forum.
