Dear Huntley 158 Families & Community Members,

Since the approval and implementation of Huntley 158’s Strategic Plan in 2020, the vision and goals of our destination school district have been impacted by unforeseen challenges and a global crisis. While we have navigated through the past year and a half with the support of all of our stakeholders, we know that these challenges and their long-term impact will shape our educational practices for months or years to come. Now, as we reevaluate our goals, progress and mission at the outset of the 2021-22 school year, we think it is more vital than ever to reconnect with our community and the tenants of our Strategic Plan.

In an ever-changing and, at times, turbulent world, we know that our job as educators, leaders and innovators is imperative in carving out opportunities for all of our students to engage with their education in meaningful ways and find success. We also know that serving our students is a team effort and that we must engage with parents, families and members of the community to make our cause both effective and worthwhile. With that in mind, we invite you to be a part of a series of community engagement sessions, which will aim to monitor the progress of our Strategic Plan’s goals and action steps, while providing a forum for thoughtful, relevant and fruitful discussions on the topics that inform our daily goals and long-term vision in Huntley 158 as a Destination school district. These meetings will be held bimonthly and will follow this framework:

  • Session #1: Aggressive Academic Intervention – SEL, MTSS & Academic Supports
    • Wednesday, November 3, 2021
  • Session #2: All Students Always – Equity in Action Plan
    • Wednesday, January 12, 2022
  • Session #3: Instructional Models – Personalized Learning & Special Services Delivery Model
    • Wednesday, March 9, 2022
  • Session #4: Operational Efficiency – ROI of an Education in Huntley 158
    • Wednesday, May 11, 2022

Each session will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Huntley High School in order to accommodate space for all those in attendance. Huntley 158 administrators and staff will serve as facilitators in order to guide small group discussions, provide valuable context to district initiatives, and answer questions. If you are interested in attending any one of these sessions, please fill out this form to confirm your interest in participating. This form is also designed to collect feedback regarding which topics parents and community members would like to address within our existing structure and framework of ideas.

I hope this opportunity to engage with our district’s goals and gain a more in-depth understanding of the strategies in place to realize our students’ potential is one you will consider. In the midst of immense challenges and change in education and across the world, we look forward to reconnecting with our most important stakeholders and reaffirming our commitment to the pillars of educational excellence that truly make Huntley 158 a Destination District. Save the date!

Thank you,

Scott Rowe, Ed.D.
