Heineman Middle School students invite you to “Be Our Guest” as they journey into the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. at the District 158 Performing Arts Center on Friday and Saturday, October 14 and 15.

Based on the original Broadway production, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. is a wonderful adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance. This stage version includes some of the most popular songs written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Alan Menken and Tim Rice.

The show features a talented cast of students in grades 6-8 telling the classic story of Belle, an adventurous young woman in a small provincial town in France, and the Beast, her hideous captor who is actually a young prince who was transformed by an enchantress as punishment for his cruel and selfish ways. In order to break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and earn love in return – before time runs out.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. is directed by Pam Jorgensen, Emily Moore, and Rick Rohde, and lighting and sound design and effects by Stuart Wilson. Scenic construction and painting, costuming, hair and makeup, and technical work by Huntley High School Scenic Crew, Studio Crew, and Tech Crew members is sure to make you believe that fairy tales really do come true.
