FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What does an elementary breakfast consist of? Breakfast will be a cold grab-and-go breakfast kit (cereal bar or bowl of cereal) that contains an additional grain, fruit juice, white milk and fresh fruit.
- When will breakfast be available for students? Breakfast will be served daily when school is in session. Breakfast schedule: Martin: 7:50 a.m. – 8:05 a.m. Leggee/Chesak/Conley/Mackeben: 8:20 a.m. – 8:35 a.m.
- Where do students eat breakfast? Breakfast is served in the cafeteria. Upon arrival, interested students should go directly to the cafeteria.
- Will students need to show their student ID to get breakfast? No. Students interested in breakfast will check in with cafeteria staff, who will have a roster of student names and will record the participating student’s name. After students return to the classroom, charges will be applied to the student’s meal account.
- How much does breakfast cost? The cost for breakfast depends on the student’s fee status, similar to the lunch program. Breakfast is $1.75 (regular), $.30 (reduced) or free.
- Is breakfast an option for students participating in the Beyond the Bell program? Yes. Students in the Beyond the Bell program will be given the option to enjoy breakfast at school. This change has been communicated to Huntley Park District staff.
- What if my child’s bus is late? Will they still get breakfast? Yes. Building administration will work to ensure students still get breakfast if desired and will not be marked as tardy.
- Is breakfast also served at Huntley 158 middle schools and the high school? Yes. Breakfast and lunch are served daily at Heineman, Marlowe and HHS.
