Chesak Elementary School

Chesak Elementary School is located at 10910 Reed Road, Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and serves more than 600 students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. In addition, the building is shared with the D158 Early Childhood Center, which occupies a separate, secure wing.

Named for a longtime educator, Chesak is one of eight schools comprising Huntley Community School District 158, which serves some 9,300 students in the villages of Huntley, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, and surrounding areas.

Elementary school buildings and programs are similar in design to maximize positive transitions and student movement.

Children in all District 158 elementary schools enjoy 30 minutes of daily physical education, music three times a week, and art twice a week. All of the specials are taught by fully qualified teachers. Library books may be checked out weekly, and students can visit our library center for instructional support activities and learning assessment.

Student support services include a school nurse, social worker, speech pathologists, reading specialists, and a full compliment of special education services.

The school office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All guests must check in at the office during student attendance hours. Children may enter the building at 8:20 a.m. and are dismissed at 3:25 p.m.

The Huntley Park District provides on site before and after school child care services. A hot lunch program is offered, for which parents can manage their accounts with online account viewing and payment.
