FREE LUNCH AND BREAKFAST FOR ALL
UPDATE: Curbside pickup service for breakfast and lunch over the Winter Break, as follows: December 21-23 and December 28-30, 9:00 a.m.-noon each day at Marlowe Middle School. Those interested will also be able to pick up additional quantities for days when services are not available.
Through December 31, 2020, ALL area children 18 and under are eligible for free breakfast and lunch meals. Meals are available daily for curbside pickup or contactless home delivery. Curbside pickup lines are open at Huntley High School, Heineman Middle School, and Marlowe Middle School from 7:00-10:00 a.m. daily. Deliveries will be made (two meals for each child in the home) in the timeframe of 9:00-11:00 a.m. daily.

INTERNET ACCESS
The District has a number of hot spots available for families lacking home internet access. Please contact your principal to help arrange for the procurement of a hot spot. In addition, there are a number of free internet options being offered by providers. Information can be found on the Illinois State Board of Education website, under the header of “Free Internet Access Resources” (https://www.isbe.net/keeplearning) If you experience other unmet needs that are barriers to successful learning during this period, please contact your principal, and the District will work to accommodate your needs.
CHILDCARE
The Huntley Park District has released information on its childcare camp options for children in Kindergarten-8th grade. Find information at https://www.huntleyparks.org/rlc/. The District has established a partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of Dundee Township to offer a Distance Learning Center program for up to 30 students, located at Chesak Elementary School. Overview:
- Hours & Days: 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Location: Chesak Elementary School
- Grades: K-5th
- Meals: Lunch and snack provided
- Cost: $350/month
- Staff Ratio:Will vary depending on age; 1 staff member per 10 children per classroom to 1 staff member per 15 children.
- Program Design: Monitoring remote learning with the district from 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. BGCDT Programs follow that include STEM, Arts & Crafts, Reading & Math, Fitness, Homework help, and more.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are buildings accessible?
Our buildings are open for school-related business, and are accessible for staff. However, we ask members of the public to limit visits to buildings as much as possible and to call ahead prior to visiting. All visitors are required to wear a mask and be subject to a symptom screening if entering a building. Limited small groups of students are coming to buildings on individualized schedules.
How can I help families in need?
Please reach out to families in need if you are able to provide assistance with childcare or other needs. In addition, the District is asking individuals to contribute to the Grafton Food Pantry to assist families who might face hardship during this time. As grocery stores attempt to meet demand from customers, they have cut back on their typical donations to the food pantry, and individual contributions are desperately needed.
Who can I contact?
Most learning, technology, and “school” related inquiries should first be directed to your teacher or principal. Teachers will be sharing their contact information and schedules with students and families. Individual staff members may otherwise be contacted by email.
