Jessica Lombard

Hello Huntley 158 families and staff,

The Huntley 158 Board of Education is excited to announce that Ms. Jessica Lombard, our district’s current associate superintendent, has been approved to serve as the interim superintendent for the 2023-24 school year. At last night’s meeting, the Board voted unanimously to appoint Ms. Lombard as interim superintendent, effective July 1, 2023. She will fill the role vacated by Dr. Scott Rowe, who has accepted the position of superintendent in Arlington Heights-based District 214 and will be leaving Huntley 158, effective June 30, 2023. Ms. Lombard has been an educational leader in the Huntley 158 community for most of her life. After growing up in Huntley and graduating from Huntley High School, she went on to receive her bachelor of science degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. Ms. Lombard also obtained a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Education Leadership from Northern Illinois University and her education specialist degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.

Jessica Lombard, Ed.S.

She began serving our district in 2002 as an assistant principal at Leggee Elementary and has served in multiple capacities since then, including building principal at Mackeben Elementary and Leggee Elementary, director of curriculum, assistant superintendent of human resources, assistant superintendent of both elementary learning and special education, and has served as the district’s associate superintendent since 2018.

We cannot think of a more qualified candidate to guide us through this transition within Huntley 158. Ms. Lombard’s experience and her clear passion for the students of our community are truly an asset to our district. She will continue to work closely with Dr. Rowe over the coming weeks to ensure a seamless transition.

As we look beyond the 2023-24 school year, our Board of Education will engage in a national superintendent search as we work towards the appointment of a permanent superintendent. We will continue to keep our staff, families and community informed of this process as it begins to take shape over the coming months.

Thank you to our board members, as well as our administrative team, for their roles in navigating this transition period. We are confident Ms. Lombard will continue to carry out the mission and goals of our school district with skill and compassion. Thank you in advance to our community for supporting Ms. Lombard in this endeavor. We look forward to continuing to serve all of our students at the highest level.

Sincerely,

Andy Bittman

President, Board of Education
