Mackeben Elementary School is located at 800 Dr. John Burkey Drive (formerly Academic Drive), Algonquin, Illinois, and serves more than 500 students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.
Named for two longtime residents of Huntley, Mackeben is one of eight schools comprising Huntley Community School District 158, which serves some 9,300 students in the villages of Huntley, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, and surrounding areas.
Elementary school buildings and programs are similar in design to maximize positive transitions and student movement.
