Huntley 158 offers 5th grade students the opportunity to participate in band or orchestra, allowing them to continue on in their selected program in middle school if desired.
Program Details
- All students, whether participating in one of these optional programs or not, will continue to have the traditional music special each week.
- 5th Grade band or orchestra students will participate in two small-group lessons for 30 minutes, twice a week. These lessons will be scheduled as a rotation occurring during different points of the school day.
- Additional whole-group practices will occur on occasion to prepare students for a scheduled concert.
Instruments
- Band instruments include: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone and Percussion
- Orchestra instruments include: Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass
