Schools in District 158 have been named after people who have had a major influence on the education of our children.

Katherine Leggee was an educator for 36 years, with the last 23 years in Huntley. She retired from teaching in June of 1993.

Besides her teaching, Mrs. Leggee was best known for her work in presenting the annual 3rd Grade Abraham Lincoln play. Mrs. Leggee had a major influence not only on the children whom she taught, but also the teachers that she worked with.

Our building opened its doors in Fall of 2000 and is the only K-5 school in the district. In 2017, along with several other Huntley 158 schools, Leggee received ENERGY STAR recognition as an energy-efficient building.

In 2018 the school received a summative designation from the Illinois State Board of Education as an exemplary school, performing in the top 10% of schools in the state with no underperforming subgroups.
