Huntley 158 held a ceremonial groundbreaking on October 1 to celebrate its soon-to-be-constructed solar installation. The ceremony, which was held at the Square Barn Road Campus, featured remarks from Superintendent Scott Rowe, Board of Education President Michael Fleck, Director of Operations and Maintenance Doug Renkosik, Forefront Power Vice President Rachel McLaughlin, and U.S. Representative Lauren Underwood.

It was attended by several local elected officials, Village officials and administrators, Chamber of Commerce members, District staff, and community members.

The ceremony was held at the site of one of three planned installations on Huntley 158 property. Separate installations will be constructed at the Harmony Road Campus and the Reed Road Campus. The three installations total to be likely the largest solar installation project on school district property in the state.
