Helping Hands & Caring Hearts: The Volunteers of District 158

Welcome to the District 158 Volunteer Services web page. We are happy that you are considering offering your volunteer services to assist our students.

Parents, grandparents, retirees, and other members of the community are encouraged to share their time, knowledge and abilities with our students. We will do our best to work around your schedule and working parents can certainly help with things at home and in the evening. Many volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year including:

  • School Picture Day
  • Vision and Hearing Screenings
  • Strengthening Reading Skills
  • Medical and Engineering Academy
  • Battle of the Books and Young Authors Program Judging
  • Elementary Concerts, Elementary Art Shows, and Book Fairs
  • Elementary PBIS Programs
  • Elementary Book Swap Programs
  • and much more!

Please remember that everyone interested in volunteering must complete a Volunteer Registration form before you can volunteer. This form must be completed each school year. In keeping with District guidelines, younger siblings are not permitted to accompany you during volunteer activities. The District appreciates everyone’s understanding that this guideline has been implemented in an effort to sustain a safe and orderly school environment.

The education of our youth takes a community effort and we are pleased that you are considering offering your time, talents, and knowledge. With your assistance, we can work together to achieve academic excellence for all of our students!
