RAD Community Event: LatinX Heritage and Culture Celebration

September 23, 2022 | 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm CDT

RAD LatinX Celebration event flyer

This month, Huntley 158’s RAD Community Event will be held on Friday, September 23 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. in celebration of LatinX heritage and culture. Huntley High School’s RAD team is celebrating Latinx Cultures & Heritage. There will be a food truck specializing in LatinX style cuisine, a traditional native dancing group, and a DJ for latin music. The dancers will teach some basic dances to anyone that wants to participate. In addition, there will be a craft station where we will teach people how to make traditional tissue paper flowers. There will be games, such as Loteria, with available prizes for winners and face painting. This is a FREE event held at Huntley High School in the Door 1 parking lot.

The goals of Recognizing American Diversity (RAD) are to recognize, celebrate, and discover diverse perspectives and identities that have historically been underrepresented. We work from the assumption that everyone benefits and grows from knowing more about one another.

Visit our website to see the calendar of engagement opportunities throughout the month of May.  Stay tuned for more opportunities to recognize diversity in our schools and across the community.
