The Daily Herald highlighted Huntley High School’s leading Career and Technology course offerings in an article discussing a rising focus on the broad area of study for high schools.

At HHS, the Career and Technical Education Department encompasses a wide range of courses and areas of focus, from applied technology such as drafting, woods, and automotive courses to engineering, business, entrepreneurship, fashion, foods, computer science and more.

“One of our goals is to make as many CTE classes as possible dual credit so our students could actually get those college transcripts before they leave high school, which is a huge benefit to them financially but also their careers,” assistant superintendent Erika Schlichter told the newspaper.

The school also is in the process of formalizing additional career pathways and pursuing partnerships with trade unions.
