Marlowe Middle School’s cast invite you to “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” to the District 158 Performing Arts Center for a classic musical. This timeless favorite that will take you and your family on an “Over the Rainbow” adventure to “The Merry Old Land of Oz”!

After a tornado transports Dorothy from her Kansas home to a strange and marvelous land, she encounters munchkins, witches, monkeys and all sorts of interesting characters as she searches for the Wizard and a way to return home. Along the way, Dorothy and her dog Toto are joined on this quest by three unlikely friends: the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. They help keep Dorothy, Toto, and a pair of enchanted slippers out of the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Featuring a cast of 101 middle school students, along with ‘Teddy’ the dog making his stage debut in the role of Toto, this one-hour adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s timeless classic is specifically tailored for young children. Complete with many flying effects including a bicycle, a witch, and monkey, theatre-goers of all ages will be in awe as the story comes to life!

Head Musical Director is Jennifer Lindsay, Assistant Director and Costumer is Sarah Moran, Assistant Music Director is Kim Popenfoose and Assistant Director of Production is Jill Cross, with Choreography by Danielle Wilson. Lighting and sound design and set design and construction is by PAC / Blackbox Technical Director, Nathan Knapke who will also oversee 23 high school students as members of the technical crew and flight operators.

Special thanks to Lamp, Inc. for the generous donation of a mechanical lift for use during the installation of flying effects equipment by Vertigo.

Performances take place on March 13 at 7pm, and March 14 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the District 158 Performing Arts Center located at Huntley High School. Tickets are $5 general seating and can be purchased online at d158.ticketleap.com or at the door one hour prior to show time.
