Huntley Community School District 158 follows the Illinois State Learning Standards. We review the state standards, then map them locally to ensure that we have identified essential local learning outcomes that are meaningful for Huntley 158 students.

At the elementary level, students receive instruction focused on self awareness and self management, social awareness and interpersonal skills, decision making skills and responsible behaviors. Elementary students also receive age-appropriate curriculum in response to Erin’s Law (Illinois Public Act 097-1147), which focuses on body safety and sexual abuse prevention.

At the secondary level, we are proud to offer a comprehensive health curriculum which covers important topics, such as mental and emotional health, drug use, reproductive health, nutrition, fitness and student safety.

Our administrative team will continue our practice of reviewing curriculum annually to ensure we provide the best possible educational experience for our students.
