HHS Goes Gold

The community is encouraged to join Huntley High School and the Department of Athletics in supporting Cal’s Angels, an organization that grants wishes and raises awareness and research funding to help kids fighting cancer.
During the month of September, all HHS athletes will wear gold items (socks, headbands, bows, etc.) provided by Cal’s Angels to games. In addition, the school is sponsoring a “Gold Out” at the September 9 home football game vs. Dundee Crown High School.
T-shirts are on sale for $10 and are available during high school lunch periods. Individuals that purchase a gold tie-dye shirt will be allowed free entry into Friday’s game vs Dundee-Crown. A limited number of shirts will be available at the gate.
Pediatric cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death among children. A nationwide effort to raise awareness is in action now. President Obama recently proclaimed September as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the Village of Huntley also made this designation locally for the month of September.
