Huntley High School’s chapter of Future Business Leaders of America has earned national recognition in the FBLA quarterly magazine, Tomorrow’s Business Leader. Huntley team members also will receive pins at the FBLA national competition in June.
Huntley is one of just five chapters in the state to receive the Chapter Challenge Award, given in recognition of completing Super Sweeps, Non-Stop November, and Action Awareness activities.
“Earning national recognition gives our students a great sense of pride,” said Tricia Eibl, Huntley’s FBLA sponsor. “It shows that even though we are a smaller chapter with 31 members, if they set goals and work hard they can accomplish anything.”
The Super Sweeps activity leads chapters through a number of activities focused on recruiting new members. Non-Stop November focus on promote World Prematurity Awareness Month and American Enterprise Day. Action Awareness tasks chapters with promoting FBLA-PBL Week and CTE Month to promote awareness of FBLA-PBL programs.

Despite its small size, Huntley’s chapter has distinguished itself among more than 5,250 chapters throughout the United States. Fifteen participants from HHS participated in the Illinois FBLA conference in March, garnering a number of individual and team honors.
“Participating in a strong FBLA chapter like ours not only builds a student’s resume, it builds character,” Eibl said. “If you talk with any of our members who have participated in local, state and national events, they can share with you how they have improved their confidence, communication, and leadership skills through FBLA.”
