Huntley High School has hosted several site visits by school districts seeking to learn about the success of its nationally recognized Blended Learning program.
But October saw a first for the school when a group of school administrators from the Sun West School Division of Saskatchewan, Canada, stopped by to pick up pointers for a possible Blended program in their school system.
Sun West is a school district covering an area of roughly 400 square miles, making the remote accessibility of blended learning particularly attractive.
In addition, as a district lacking significant financial resources, the visitors also sought cost-efficiency, said Darren Gasper, Sun West superintendent of education.
While their tour of the U.S. included stops at several Chicago Public Schools-affiliated specialized schools as well as a few private schools, the visitors said they were most impressed by the HHS program.
That was in large part due to the strong success of the District’s in-house creation and rollout of the program without significant capital investment.
