Huntley 158 families,

We have been encouraged by much of the feedback we have received from families, with many reports of students thriving in the remote learning environment, and many reports of others who are successfully managing our difficult situation. Certainly, we’ve also heard from others who are struggling, and we acknowledge that despite our best efforts, there are many for whom our current situation remains extraordinarily difficult.

We do take heart that our remote instruction will continue to improve, and our plans for increasing in-person experiences for small groups of students are progressing.

We are on track to begin having our special education self-contained students begin rotating into buildings for in-person learning starting the week of September 14, with select students beginning to rotate in for interventions the following week. Those eligible for these opportunities will be receiving more information.

We also continue to explore options for more robust in-person experiences and are hopeful that the circumstances beyond our control will allow us to provide more of these valuable experiences for students. Please know that no one would like to have students back in our buildings more than our staff members! Please stay tuned, stay energized, and stay the course! We are doing this! Please read on for a few more important updates to help you as we continue this journey.

Loaner Desks Available

The District has school desks available for checkout to families for home use. We are making this loaner service available in response to inquiries from families hoping to set up familiar and dedicated spaces for their students’ learning. This was a great idea generated by our community, and we are happy to make a supply of desks available to those who will benefit.

Brighter Days Ahead!

Our partners at ForeFront Power fired up their drone to get some aerial photos of the solar arrays at our Square Barn Road and Reed Road Campuses. While some days feel gloomy, successes like our solar project give us all confidence that brighter days lie ahead!

Stay well and enjoy this long weekend!
