Huntley 158 families,

I hope you’ll join us in celebrating this day, on which we welcomed students at all grade levels to begin full-day in-person learning, five days a week. We know that this is a goal that we have shared with many in our community over the past year, and we’re pleased to have gotten here together.

But please know that our commitment to ALL students remains steadfast.

That includes families who have opted to continue learning in the remote format, who will continue to receive the highest level of support and services.

It also includes our secondary (6-12) families waiting to return to in-person learning under our current model. We are continuing our work to shore up the transportation shortages currently preventing these families from switching from remote to in-person learning. Progress is being made, and we hope to share good news with these families soon.

Throughout the past year, our staff has worked tirelessly to accommodate the changing needs of our families while maintaining safety as our top priority. And we will continue to do so. This year is far from over, and the challenges we face in regard to COVID-19 are far from over.

Questions remain, and we want to answer them for you as best we can! I encourage you to seek information from the District or your school when you have questions. While we continue to grapple with uncertainty in navigating the ongoing pandemic, we will always provide you with the best information possible. While social media networks and online resources can be helpful to families in any number of ways, when you are looking for an answer to a specific question about your child’s education, we encourage you to reach out to us directly. In general, your child’s school will be the best source for specific information regarding your child’s education and experience at school. We are always here to help!

Thank you again for the incredible support we continue to receive from our community. Together we can make this final chapter of the 2020-21 school year the most memorable and meaningful yet!

Sincerely,

Scott N. Rowe, Ed.D.
