The Huntley Community School District 158 Board of Education is accepting applications to fill the seat of Board President Michael Fleck, who has announced his resignation effective July 16, 2020. The appointment will last until the next Board election, in spring 2021. Current vice president Tony Quagliano will assume the presidency.

Fleck was first appointed to the Board of Education in January 2013 and subsequently elected to full terms in 2013 and 2017. He has served as Board president since June 2018. He is stepping down because of his plans to relocate outside of the District. While Mr. Fleck is planning to move his residence outside of the District, he will maintain his law practice in Huntley and remain an active part and supporter of the Huntley 158 community.

Those interested in the volunteer position should submit an application by 4:00 p.m. on June 15, 2020, consisting of the following documents, to Julie Stock, Executive Assistant and Board Operations, Huntley Community School District 158, 650 Dr. John Burkey Drive, Algonquin, IL 60102:

  • Letter of Interest
  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Proof of Residency within Huntley CSD 158 boundaries and Illinois for at least a year
  • Proof of Voter’s Registration, for either McHenry or Kane Counties, Illinois
  • Resume and three Letters of Reference
  • Verification of being at least 18 years of age.
