Dr. Bradley Hawk was named interim superintendent for the remainder of the 2017-18 school year following the resignation of Dr. John Burkey, effective January 31, 2018. Burkey left to take a position as executive director of the Large Unit District Association.
Dr. Hawk retired from full-time work as an educational administrator in 2009, having served as superintendent of Burlington District 301 for five years. Since then he has been a clinical assistant professor at Northern Illinois University and in 2016-17 served as interim superintendent at DeKalb CUSD 428.
He is a familiar face to longtime community members, having previously served as assistant superintendent of human resources in Huntley 158 from 2000 to 2004. He also served as an interim assistant principal at Huntley High School in 2010. He began his teaching career at Sterling High School in Sterling, Illinois and later served as a principal and curriculum director there before joining Huntley 158.
