TOPIC: On the Road Ahead: Obtaining a Driver’s License and Needed Support/Accommodations
Obtaining a driver’s license and having the ability to drive a car is a key component toward independence. This presentation covers skill development, accommodations, and support related to driving, with a focus on individuals with special needs. Strive for Independence, a driver rehabilitation group and certified state of Illinois driving school, offers evaluations, driver training, and pre-driving skill courses. Additionally, information on accommodations at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be discussed during the presentation.
