Everyone in the community is encouraged to participate in Destination 158! This citizen-led community engagement program brings parents and District residents together to develop a plan to keep our schools moving in the right direction.
The Huntley 158 Education Foundation will host its annual Employee Recognition Banquet on Thursday, March 12, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Jameson’s in Huntley. Check back for ticket information. The Educator of the Year and Employee of the Year awards will be presented at the banquet. The nomination process for honorees will open December 2.

For 25 years, Rock n Kids has introduced young children to the wonderful world of music, while encouraging a positive attitude and increasing self-confidence. Based on a unique curriculum, each Kid Rock class includes svariety of rhythm instruments and movement props. Sing, dance and play the Kid Rock Way! Kid Rock will last 30 minutes. Limited to 45 people.

This class is designed to introduce traditional elements of Hatha Yoga to young children in an engaging, playful and creative way. We will combine traditional asanas, simple breathwork and mindfulness exercises to promote strong and flexible bodies as well as balanced and peaceful minds! We will use books and storytelling to guide the kids through movements and introduce concepts such as self-love, acceptance and gratitude. We will dance, sing and have plenty of fun! Please bring a yoga mat or a beach towel to class. This program is limited to 20 families and will last 30 minutes.

The District 158 Early Childhood Center holds face-to-face screenings once a month to determine children’s eligibility for enrollment. When the at-risk preschool classes are full there will be a waiting list to attend. If you are interested in having your child screened please visit www.district158.org/ecc/eligibility/ to learn more about and begin the process.
